Lawrence A. Cunningham is the Henry Tucker III Research Professor at The George Washington University Law School in Washington, DC and the Founding Faculty Director of George Washington in New York (GWNY).  Professor Cunningham is an internationally-recognized expert and educator in corporate law, governance, and structure; contract law and business contracting; and value investing.

            Cunningham has taught all these subjects to thousands of students at seven U.S. universities and four universities outside the U.S. Among the latter, he has taught Comparative Corporate Governance on numerous occasions at Oxford University, Hebrew University and Central European University. He has taught Accounting and Finance to undergraduates at University of Navarra in Pamplona, Spain.

            Cunningham has lectured on the fundamentals of value investing at numerous universities around the world and other venues, including University of Lisbon and Catholic University in Lisbon, Universidad Francisco Marroquín in Guatemala City, the Value Investing Congress in Sao Paulo and The Federation of European Stock Exchanges in London.  Cunningham is vice chairman of the board of directors of Constellation Software Inc., a Toronto-based company with operations in 80 countries.

            Cunningham’s research has included a substantial international element, including a European focus. Most recently, in 2015, he wrote the book Quality Investing, with portfolio managers from AKO Capital, a London investment firm, illustrating investment principles through case studies of two dozen large European companies. His classic book, The Essays of Warren Buffett, is a leading textbook across the US as well as in dozens of countries where it has been translated into local languages.
