Curriculum
Valentina Gentile è docente alla LUISS Guido Carli. Dal 2016 è Visiting Professor all’Università di Antwerp. In precedenza, è stata Post-doctoral Fellow alla LUISS Guido Carli, UCSIA Visiting Researcher presso Antwerp University (Belgium), Honorary Research Associate alla School of Government presso University College of London (UK) e Marie Curie Fellow presso University of Utrecht (Netherlands). E’ vicedirettore del CEGP (Center for Ethics and Global Politics) ed è stata vice-coordinatore del PhD in Politics: Theory, Science and History della LUISS Guido Carli dal 2016 al 2018. Oltre che alla Luiss ha insegnato nelle Università di Roma, Napoli, Bari, Milano e Antwerp. Ha conseguito l’abilitazione Nazionale di Seconda Fascia (Professore Associato) per il settore disciplinare SPS01 a Marzo 2017.
I suoi interessi di ricerca principali: teoria politica normativa, teoria liberale e in particolare il lavoro di John Rawls. La sua ricerca si incentra sul rapporto tra religione e politica, l’ideale normativo di stabilità, pluralismo e i principi di reciprocità, tolleranza, eguaglianza e giustizia sociale. E’ autrice di From Identity-Conflicts to Civil Society: Restoring Human Dignity and Pluralism in Deeply Divided Societies (LUP, 2013) e ha curato (con T. Bailey) il volume Rawls and Religion (Columbia University Press).
