Andrea is Research Director at the National Research Council of Italy (CNR), Visiting Fellow at the Birkbeck Centre for Innovation Management Research, University of London.

He has been Fulbright-Schuman Post Doc at Harvard University, Center for European Studies, and Marie Curie Fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science, Department of Geography and Environment.

He is interested in innovation, the globalization of intellectual property rights, technological change and productivity growth.

He has published his research in journal such as Research Policy, Industry and Innovation, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, World Development, Regional Studies. He has recently published, together with Daniele Archibugi, The Handbook of Global Science, Technology, and Innovation, Wiley.
