I teach International Economics at the Universitas Mercatorum and at Luiss, Rome, Italy.

My research focuses on the empirics of international trade. In particular, the measurement of international sectorial and overall specialization using nonparametric statistics; the similarity in trade structures and its effect on growth. I have also worked on several empirical topics ranging from the formation of individual opinions among economists to the economic content of offshoring indices.

My ongoing research deals with network theory and applied of network analysis, on causal models with interferences, on historical trade and trade policy and on the theory and application of gravity models to international trade and migration issues.
