Eugenio Prosperetti, was born in Rome (1973), where he currently resides and works as a lawyer.
He graduated in Law in Rome Tor Vergata University (1998) with 110/110 and in 2005 achieved a Ph.D in Commercial Law from the same University (Faculty of Economics) with a thesis on software contracts.
He is a member of the Rome Bar, authorized to defend in front of Italian Superior Courts.
He founded his own practice (Studio Prosperetti) in 2004 after several years in international firms such as Baker & McKenzie (associate) and Portolano Colella Cavallo Prosperetti. He currently assists and counsels national and international players in the markets of cloud services, satellite broadband, digital television, data management and trust services.
Eugenio was called on several occasions to advise government and public institutions on regulatory matters: he served in 2007 as member of the tecnical advisory board of the Minister of Communications, Mr. Paolo Gentiloni; in the same year he was a component of the expert committee of the IP Protection Committee of the Italian Government; in 2010 he was part of a research group on UltraBroadBand (ISBUL) appointed by AGCOM; in 2013-2014 he was part of the expert groups who drafted the regulations of SPID - the Italian electronic identity and, in 2016 the relevant amendments to the Digital Administration Code (D.Lgs. 82/2005); in 2014-2015 he was part of the Digital Agenda Permanent Committee of the Italian Government; in 2017 he was part of the Artifical Intelligence Task Force of Agid and in 2017-2019 he was appointed expert legal advisor for Agid for cross-border implementation of the electronic identity.
Regarding academic activity, in 2017 he has achieved National Scientific Qualification as Associate Professor of Business Law (12/B1); besides activity in LUISS, he has worked as adjunct professor in various field relevant to IT and digital markets: 2009-2014: Sapienza University - Business Models for Information Technology; 2012-2014: University of Siena - Competition Law and Policy; 2018-2020: Unicusano - Business Law;
He is Adjunct Professor in LUISS since 2015, where he has been teaching Legal Aspects of Information Technology until 2020 and, currently, he is teaching Algorithm and Data Management Law in the Department of Law and, since 2021, also Business Cyberlaw in the Department of Enterprise and Management.
He is the author of several publications on digital copyright, trust services, cloud agreements and other legal topics including a monography on "L'Opera Digitale tra Regole e Mercato" (Giappichelli, 2012).
