The aim of this preliminary course is to improve the students knowledge on basic mathematics in order to help them to follow effectively the course of Mathematical Methods for Economics and Finance.

Contents of the preliminary course:  

- Linear Algebra: Vectors and Operations, Vector Spaces and Basis, Matrix Algebra, Determinants, Rank, Linear Indipendence, Linear Systems. 

- Calculus of one variable: Topology in R, Domains, Limits, Derivatives, Graph of a Function. 

- Series and integrals: Summation notation, Geometric, Harmonic, Telescopic Series and other examples, Fundamentals of Integration, Integration by Parts and by Substitution, Integration of a Ratio. 

It follows the entrance test, solve the exercises and assess yourself!
